Competitors to Sora have been the big news stories this week, with Google Veo 2, Pika, Hailuo/Minimax and Adobe debuting video models. Wow!

I’m expecting the presence of Sora to push other companies to work hard on their own video models this coming year. I’m predicting 2025 will be the year of AI video! Gen video has been slowly creeping along in the “background” for a while and is now catching up and getting to a quality level where it can be used in production, as opposed to just demos and storyboarding.

Oh, and happy holidays to those celebrating Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza or any other holiday this week!
