So this week the huge news is Sora, the video generator, coming out from OpenAI. It’s been 10 months since it was first announced and given to a small early access list. Since then, a ton of competitors have entered the scene. I think overall this is good for everyone, since a variety of sources working on video generation tech will yield greater advances through competition. I’m predicting that 2025 will be the year of video generation and I’m excited to see what comes next!

Google’s Project Astra and Deep Research are also exciting news! Character.AI is still in the hot seat. New video model from Pika! And Adobe has one coming soon, too.
