Leo's Lightbulbs

Hello everyone and welcome to Leo’s Lightbulbs! I’ll be covering the top news from the past week every Monday morning in your inbox. This newsletter was written completely by hand, without any AI assistance or even AI editing.

So, let’s jump right in! What happened in AI this week?

The big news is definitely Microsoft’s massive deal to make AI chips working together with Intel. Until at least 2025 there are no real competitors in the AI silicon market, and it is good for everyone if more companies enter the market, driving down silicon prices and thus compute costs and barriers to entry for new AI companies, who generally can’t afford costly server farm level chips due to insufficient supply driving prices up.

OpenAI is getting in the chip foundry game as well, and I’m expecting further news from AMD and TSMC about chip manufacturing.

TL;DR

Have you heard about Horizon AI? It’s run by my friend Gina, check it out! She’s a brilliant data scientist and an awesome person.

Horizon AIData and AI leader shares 3-minute briefings on everything you need to know about AI and tech.

Have a wonderful week everybody! I check this email address ([email protected]) daily, so don’t hesitate to reply with any thoughts or questions for a chance to get featured next week!

Yours,
